Statement:
As far back as I remember, I've always love creating things. For me, painting is about creating. I control the process
of putting beauty, inspiration, and poetry on a flat, white canvas; it thrills me every time. With my "Plein Air" work, I indulge a romantic notion by roaming the hills and roads where I live, painting the things
that inspire me.
In contrast, my "Still life / Food" paintings originate mostly from my imagination. I study foods which appeal to me and sketch ideas or paint directly on the canvas, allowing the design to develop as I work. Painting in this manner is fun and spontaneous, and the energy is reflected in my brushwork and palette.
