It should be a lot of fun to visit Boston this summer!

With Leav'n Town, Cole uses a leaf motif and covers the cow in a blanket of fallen leaves. The leaves speak of the beautiful New England Fall and it's, ever popular, show of color. The warmth and cheer of this cow is unmistakably, "Cole".

Tea Party Cow is a retrospective look at a troubling event with our English cousins. Having both long gotten over bitter divides and the revolutionary events that followed the original Boston Tea Party, Tea Party Cow imparts a joyous face to the renewable human spirit and our ability to forgive
I used this cow for some artistic fun. The two men sipping tea are the British artist, Joseph William Maylord Turner and the colonial artist, John Singleton Copley, of Boston fame. The painting on the other side is not of Samuel Adams, as some folks are prone to believe. The more artistically savvy will notice it is none other than Paul Revere with the North Church in the background, "One if by land, two if by sea." This piece incorporates two Copley painting that are at the MFA; one is of Paul Revere with his silver teapot (Revere was a silver smith), the other is "Boy with Squirrel". I took the squirrel from that painting and placed him beside Paul enjoying a sip of tea. I left off the gold chain. This emancipated flying squirrel freely enjoys a sip of some good Earl Grey. I think Copley would be proud.
